BIOGRAPHY

Birth: April 10, 1978

Zodiac Sign: Aries

Residence: San Anselmo, California

Education: Graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School in 1996. Currently a freshman at University of Southern California (USC).

Family: Sue (mother)- Born and raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Larry (father)- Born and raised in Queens, New York. Barbara (sister)- Three years younger than Davis but still as close as ever.

Hobbies: Downhill skiing, dancing, being with her friends and sister.

How she got started: Jessica Davis began Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of eight when her Physical Education teacher at her elementary school introduced it to her. Pauline David, P.E. teacher, was a coach at Gymnos, USA in San Rafael, California. She realized that Davis had very unique flexibility and started her as an artistic gymnast. At her first class, she glanced across the gym and saw the beautiful sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics. She began the sport right after that.

Did you know?:

• Davis began as an ice skater but her ice rink closed down and then she began gymnastics.
• Davis toured around the nation on the John Hancock Tour of Olympic Gymnasts. She became good friends with the Magnificent Seven and the US men gymnasts from the 1996 Olympic Games.
• Davis has gotten a pin from every competition she has ever been in.
• Davis kisses a good luck stuffed frog, that her sister gave her years back, before going out on the floor for each competition.
• During her competition career she was very superstitious. Everyone around her began to call the Olympics, The "O" word, so they would not jinx her chances of going.
• Davis went to France to study French for two months during the months of March, April and part of May of 1997 which was right after the 1996 Olympics.
