That Needs Our Help

Estuaries are the basis of life for most marine animals. Living there does not come easy to the animals. You may not know this but the tide changes the amount of salt and freshwater in and estuary twice a day. As the tides change the animals have to adjust to the salt and fresh water differences. Sometimes the animals choose to leave at high tide or low tide but others just take the time to adapt to the changes. This is just one of the situations animals in estuaries have to adapt or put up with.

We have come to a point in time where the estuaries need our help the most. They have to put up with the oil spills, which is a very bad thing for them. It is happening to animals all over the world as we speak. As you can see by the picture, we should do as much as we can to help these animals.

Unfortunately, NASA is using saltwater marshes as a dump if their space shuttles crash after take-off ("Salt Marshes and Mud Flats."). All different people have their different thoughts about everything; NASA believes that they should have a crash landing area in a salt mash far away from people. They do not take the time to realize that there are about 2,000 species living in the salt marshes they use. The space station claims that they are helping the salt marshes by cleaning them but it is nearly impossible for them to clean the pollution that they are causing. Another thing that they do is they flood the salt marshes with water so the mosquitos won't lay their eggs. This does not only affect the mosquitoes but it also kills many of the plants, and therefor animals.
